Where do I begin? First, I came to Key West for business. My awesome friend from back in my college days and his awesome wife just happened to be coming here at the same time (okay, I begged them to drive down the coast slowly so they would be here at the same time) and my dear friends from back in the early military days came in from Bradenton, FL to celebrate a birthday and see me. I am so very happy to be able to spend time with all of them (photos to follow). Celebrated Gary’s birthday at the Square Grouper Restaurant (a gold medal to the person who can tell me what a square grouper is). Then, was treated by my dear college friend (Michael Cardwell) and his lovely wife (Jasmine T Cardwell) to a boat trip to the Dry Tortugas). The only day available was today. Dramamine ✅ Wrist bracelet for sea sickness ✅ other people with Dramamine and wrist bracelet (no check!) A cold front came in last night and the channel was wicked! 😡 Sick people puking in paper barf bags everywhere around us – everywhere! The three of us – 😳😳😳 – staring at the horizon! Literally, we looked just like those faces staring at the horizon (that’s what our guides told us to do)! We would ask each other if we were okay and the responses would be in grunt form only and an occasional 👍🏼. The Tortuga was great but we dreaded the trip back until we learned sitting outside in the fresh air was the way to go! 👍🏼
